  1. National Handloom Day is annually observed on 7 August across India to promote handloom and to recognize and honour the efforts and skills of the handloom weaving community engaged in the sector and the contribution it has made to India’s socio-economic development. The theme of National Handloom Day 2023 is “Handloom for Sustainable Fashion”.
  2. Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Amit Shah has launched a unique initiative ‘Mera Gaon Meri Dharohar’ in New Delhi as part of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav.
  3. Adani Transmission Ltd has renamed itself to Adani Energy Solutions Limited with effect from 27 July, 2023.

  16. On 3 August 2023, Padma Bhushan awardee and 1960 batch Indian Administrative Service officer of the Gujarat cadre, Nagarajan Vittal passed away in Chennai.
